Ben Stein

Ben Stein is a distinguished educational leader and the Executive Director of the Mississippi Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP). Since assuming leadership of the association in July 2025, Ben has focused on expanding professional development opportunities and fostering a collaborative network for school leaders across the state.

Ben’s deep-rooted commitment to the Mississippi education system is evidenced by his dual role as an Assistant Superintendent for the Rankin County School District (RCSD). In this capacity, he oversees vital district operations, bringing a wealth of practical experience from the front lines of school administration to his executive leadership at MASSP.

Before his transition to district-level administration, Ben served as the Principal of Northwest Rankin High School. His impactful tenure there was marked by a commitment to academic excellence and school culture, earning him the prestigious honor of being named the 2020 MASSP High School Principal of the Year.

A long-time member of MASSP, Ben has been an integral part of the organization’s growth for years. Having served as a dedicated Board Member and as a Past President, he possesses a unique, firsthand understanding of the challenges and triumphs facing today’s secondary school principals. His vision for the association is built on the belief that strong, inspired leaders are the cornerstone of successful schools.

Ben continues to be a vocal advocate for educators at the local and state levels, ensuring that the voices of Mississippi’s administrators are heard and that they have the resources necessary to lead their schools into the future.
